Online Gambling in the Free State 2026
The Free State's gambling landscape — provincial regulation, licensed casinos, and online options for Bloemfontein players.
Gambling Regulation
The Free State Gambling, Liquor and Tourism Authority (FSGLTA) regulates all gambling activities in the province. The authority oversees casino licences, sports betting, bingo, and Limited Payout Machines (LPMs). The Free State has a relatively small gambling market compared to Gauteng and the Western Cape, but its two licensed casinos serve the province's nearly 3 million residents.
Land-Based Casinos
- 🏛️ Windmill Casino & Entertainment Centre — Bloemfontein. The province's main casino destination with slots, table games, restaurants, and conference facilities. Part of the Peermont group.
- ⛏️ Goldfields Casino & Hotel — Welkom. Serves the goldfields region with gaming, accommodation, and dining facilities.
Online Betting Options
Free State residents have full access to all nationally licensed SA sports betting operators. Hollywoodbets, Betway, and Sportingbet are popular choices. For online casino gaming, international platforms like Springbok Casino, Thunderbolt, and Europa Casino accept Free State players and offer games in ZAR with SA-friendly payment methods.
