Handicap betting applies a virtual advantage or disadvantage to selections to create more balanced odds. In Asian Handicap, the favourite receives a negative handicap (e.g., -1.5 goals) while the underdog gets a positive one (+1.5 goals). This eliminates the draw outcome and offers closer to even-money odds. European Handicap includes the draw as a possible result. Handicap betting is hugely popular in South African rugby and soccer betting. For example, if the Springboks are -14.5 points against Italy, they must win by 15+ points for your bet to succeed.
