Game Overview
Gold of Rand by Play'n GO is a South African currency-themed slot celebrating the rich history of the Rand — from its origins tied to the Witwatersrand gold rush to its status as modern Southern Africa's dominant currency. The 5×3 grid with 20 paylines features gold Krugerrand coins, vintage banknotes, SA Reserve Bank imagery, and gold ingot symbols.
The educational design includes historical Rand facts as winning celebration messages, teaching players about the currency's journey from the 1961 decimalisation through various economic eras. The Rand Rush hold-and-win mechanic is the centrepiece, providing satisfying collection-based gameplay with four jackpot tiers.
Key Features
- • Rand Rush: Land 6+ gold coin symbols for 3 respins. Each coin displays a ZAR value. Fill all 15 positions for the Grand Jackpot of 1,000x.
- • Jackpot Tiers: Mini (20x), Minor (50x), Major (200x), and Grand (1,000x) — triggered randomly during Rand Rush.
- • Gold Standard Wild: A Krugerrand wild that doubles any win it contributes to — effectively a 2x multiplier wild.
- • Reserve Bank Free Spins: 8 free spins where all coin values are doubled and the Grand Jackpot increases to 2,000x.
