Game Overview
Jackal Moon by Thunderkick is a hauntingly beautiful nocturnal slot set in the African bushveld under a massive orange moon. The 6x4 grid with 4,096 ways to win features black-backed jackals, aardwolves, bat-eared foxes, and African wildcats as high-value symbols, with a mesmerising ambient soundtrack of night insects and distant jackal calls.
Thunderkick have created perhaps the most atmospheric nocturnal slot ever produced. The moonlight bathes the bushveld in warm amber tones, fireflies drift across the screen between spins, and the stars shift subtly as the moon progresses through its phases during the Moonrise Free Spins. The audio design is equally exceptional — the building howl of jackals when wilds trigger creates genuine goosebumps.
Howl Wilds
The Howl Wilds feature triggers when the black-backed jackal symbol lands — it howls to the moon, summoning 2–4 additional wild symbols on adjacent reels. The jackal itself also becomes wild, creating clusters of 3–5 wilds per trigger. The visual and audio impact of the howl — moonlight intensifying, other jackals answering in the distance — makes this one of the most satisfying wild triggers in any slot.
With 4,096 ways to win, even 3 wilds strategically placed can generate substantial payouts. The summoned wilds tend to land on reels adjacent to the triggering jackal, creating concentrated wild zones that intersect with multiple win ways simultaneously.
Moonrise Multiplier Free Spins
Over 15 free spins, the moon advances through 5 phases: New Moon (spins 1–3, 1x multiplier), Crescent (4–6, 2x), Half Moon (7–9, 3x), Gibbous (10–12, 5x), and Full Moon (13–15, 10x). The final 3 spins at 10x deliver the biggest wins and are where the 12,500x max win becomes achievable. The visual transition from dark new moon to blazing full moon is cinematic — the entire scene transforms as moonlight floods the bushveld.
