How Baccarat Works
Baccarat is one of the simplest and most elegant casino games, offering some of the best odds in the house. Popular among both beginners and high rollers, it's available at most SA-friendly online casinos.
- • Two hands are dealt: Player and Banker
- • Cards 2-9 = face value, 10/J/Q/K = 0, Ace = 1
- • The hand closest to 9 wins
- • If the total exceeds 9, drop the first digit (e.g. 15 = 5)
- • You bet on Player, Banker, or Tie before cards are dealt

Baccarat Strategy
The optimal baccarat strategy is remarkably simple: always bet on Banker. Despite the 5% commission on Banker wins, the 1.06% house edge is still the lowest available. Avoid the Tie bet completely — despite the attractive 8:1 payout, the 14.36% house edge makes it one of the worst bets in the casino. Side bets like Player Pair and Banker Pair carry even higher house edges and should be treated as entertainment, not strategy.
Live Dealer Baccarat
Live dealer baccarat from Evolution Gaming and Pragmatic Play Live offers the authentic high-roller experience from home. Speed Baccarat completes a round in 27 seconds. Lightning Baccarat adds random multipliers up to 512x. SA players can access ZAR tables 24/7, with professional dealers and HD streaming creating a premium atmosphere.
