Thunderstruck II Slot Review 2026

Game Overview

Thunderstruck II by Microgaming is a legendary Norse mythology-themed slot featuring Thor, Odin, Loki, and Valkyrie. With 243 ways to win, four progressive bonus features, and medium-high volatility, it remains one of the most beloved slots among South African players. Originally released in 2010, it has stood the test of time as one of the most complete slot experiences ever created.

The game's progressive bonus system is its masterstroke — the Great Hall of Spins requires multiple bonus triggers to unlock higher tiers. Starting with Valkyrie's modest 10 free spins, players progressively unlock Loki (5 triggers), Odin (10 triggers), and finally Thor (15 triggers). This creates a genuine sense of long-term progression rarely seen in slots, rewarding loyal players with increasingly powerful features.

Great Hall of Spins

• • Valkyrie: 10 free spins with 5x multiplier — available from first trigger
• • Loki: 15 free spins with Wild Magic feature — unlocked after 5 triggers
• • Odin: 20 free spins with Wild Ravens that transform symbols — unlocked after 10 triggers
• • Thor: 25 free spins with Rolling Reels and growing multipliers up to 5x — unlocked after 15 triggers

Wildstorm Feature

The Wildstorm feature can trigger randomly on any base game spin, turning up to 5 reels completely wild. While extremely rare, a full 5-reel Wildstorm guarantees a massive payout as every possible 243-way combination produces a win. Even a 2 or 3-reel Wildstorm creates significant winning potential, making every spin genuinely exciting.
