Hold and Spin

Hold and Spin (also called Hold and Win or Respin) is a slot feature where landing a certain number of special symbols (usually coins or money symbols) triggers a bonus. During the feature, these symbols lock in place while the remaining positions respin. Each new special symbol resets the respins counter (usually 3). The feature ends when no new symbols land or all positions are filled (for the Grand Jackpot). Hold and Spin features often have Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand jackpot tiers. This mechanic was popularised by Lightning Link and is now used in hundreds of slots including Coin Master and Cash Bonanza.
