Hit Frequency

Hit frequency indicates how often a slot machine will produce any winning combination, expressed as a percentage. A slot with 25% hit frequency will produce a win roughly once every 4 spins. However, hit frequency alone doesn't tell you about the size of those wins — a slot can have high hit frequency but most wins may be smaller than your bet (resulting in a net loss per spin). Hit frequency correlates loosely with volatility: low volatility slots tend to have higher hit frequency, while high volatility slots have lower hit frequency but larger potential payouts.
