    Payline

Lines across reels where matching symbols create wins.

    Full Explanation

Paylines are predetermined patterns across the reels where matching symbols must land to create a winning combination. Classic slots had a single horizontal payline, but modern video slots can have 10, 20, 50, or even 243+ 'ways to win.' Some slots use Megaways mechanics offering up to 117,649 ways to win. Paylines can run horizontally, diagonally, or in zigzag patterns. You can usually choose how many paylines to activate, though many modern slots have fixed paylines. More active paylines increase your chances of winning but also increase your bet per spin.

    💡 Example

A 25-payline slot at R1 per line costs R25 per spin with all lines active.
