Full Explanation
A parlay is the international term for an accumulator bet — a single wager that combines two or more individual selections. All selections must win for the parlay to pay out. The appeal of parlays is the multiplication of odds: three 2.0 selections combined create a parlay at 8.0 odds, meaning a R100 bet returns R800. However, the more selections you add, the lower your probability of winning. Many South African sportsbooks offer parlay insurance (money back if one leg loses) and parlay boost promotions (extra percentage on winnings). Parlays are most popular in football, rugby, and horse racing.
💡 Example
3-leg parlay: Selection A (1.80) × Selection B (2.20) × Selection C (1.50) = 5.94 combined odds.
